Its feet and legs seemed to be of a pale flesh color, although I could not see them nearly so well as I could the bill which was of a bright red color and of considerable length--much longer than the head I should say. Also saw at same place three or four individuals of a Sandpiper-like bird. The birds were quite large of a grayish (seen at some distance) color and the bill was two and one half inches long I should judge. Dec-28 I have moved outside and am now at Watsonville. On the journey here I noticed as follows:- A short time after we got out of the canyon I saw two or three Calif. Condors at close range. They were exceedingly tame. Perhaps
