Alameda to San Francisco, cal.
about 8:00 A.M.
Conditions:- Foggy; moderate temperature; no wind.
There were a good many Clangula clangula
along the seawall this morning in the fog. The
most of them either flew or dived.
Larus glaucescens was very common on the
bay. One or two Larus californicus (adult)
were seen. Three cormorants crossed our
bows in the fog.

Conditions:- Strong southwest wind; rainy;
moderate temperature; morning about 8:00 A.M.
There were several Clangula clangula and
small grebes along the mole. One clangula
clangula was very close, as was also the only
Oedemia deglandi seen.
Larus californicus and Larus glaucescens
was observed on the bay, the latter, of course,
being the abundant bird.
About 3:30 in the afternoon, at 1846 Gough
Street, a good many gulls passed over beating
to windward close to the house tops. They
appeared to be Larus californicus and Larus
Glaucescens.
