125. Several grebes were seen along the sea-wall. A flock of ducks was seen going southward on the bay, and one along the mole. Oct. 24, 1907. Alameda to San Francisco, cal. Conditions: - Moderate temperature; no wind; over- cast; time about 8:00 A.M. On the sand exposed near the roundhouse there was a flock of 40 or 50 sandpipers feed- ing. Two or three days ago during a high tide I saw a great many hunters in the marsh west of 1st Street. I noted one carrying a Rallus ob- soletus. One or two small grebes were seen along the sea- wall and mole both this and yesterday morning. Oct. 25, 1907. Alameda to and from San Francisco, cal.
