Alameda to and from San Francisco, Cal.
Conditions: - Quite clear m. afternoon; NW wind; moderate temperature.
Yesterday evening saw several adult Larus occidentalis
and Larus heermanni on the water off Goat Island.
This evening only an occasional one of the two
above species were observed on the trip across to the
mole.
July 7, 1907.
Bay Farm Island, Alameda co., Cal.
Conditions: Moderate temperature; overcast; NW wind.
I saw an Ardea herodias in a puddle left by the
high tides in an old road.
Along the road a number of Melospiza cinerea,
Hirundo erythrogaster, and Euphagus cyanoccephalus,
were seen. One Larus ludovicianus was seen close
to an asparagus field. I saw tracks of shore birds on sand.
