They would spread their wings as if for flight when
about to be dislodged. Two finally gave it up, but two
stayed with the wood.

Conditions: Overcast; moderate temperature; NW wind.
Along the mole there was of course nothing.
In the evening only two or three gulls were
seen. One which passed close was an immature
Larus californicus.

I noted an adult Larus occidentalis this even-
ing after just leaving the slip. No birds were
seen along Alameda mole either in the morn-
ing or evening.

The past week only an occasional Larus
occidentalis, adult and Larus californicus, im-
mature were seen. Nothing along the mole.
