Pelidna alpina. Common. Symphemia semipalmata. Common. Numenius hudsonicus. Abundant Squatarola squatarola. Abundant. Colymbus holboelli. One taken SW of S.P. C.R.R. In very poor condition. APR - 7 1905 Alameda, Cal. to and from San Francisco, Cal. Conditions: - Warm; clear; somewhat wind. Ducks are fairly common along the seawall and mole, Gulls are abundant on the sand. Larus philadel- phias common. Quite a number of sandpipers and a few large shore birds were seen at the roundhouse. APR - 8 1905 The remarks made yesterday also apply to-day. Larus californicus is abundant on the bay. A few Larus glaucescens are also seen here. A good many of these are seen on the piers. Mr. Beck obtained the following birds from Alameda to-day: - Gavia lumme, one showing considerable gray and some red on the throat; Mergus serrator, two adult males and one female; Aythya wallioneria, one male; Aythya affinis, one male. APR 10 1905 Alameda, Cal. to and from San Francisco, Cal. Conditions: - Warm; breezy; somewhat overcast in morning.
