Alameda, Cal. to and from San Francisco, Cal.
7:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. and 5:15 P.M. to 5:40 P.M.
Conditions:- Same as yesterday.
Ducks were not as abundant along the mole as they were
two or three days ago. I rode inside the steamer. On the San Francis-
coside I saw a good many Larus glauciscens.
In the evening Larus glauciscens were abundant; also Larus
canus or Larus brachyrynchus. Seven loons passed to the
south while we were off the mole. I saw a flock of about twen-
ty cormorants in the distance. Along the mole I saw two-
grebes and a good many ducks.
Mr. Loomis saw several Larus occidentalis yesterday,
and one bird which he took to be Larus glauciscens. He reports
a few more Larus californicus than last Sunday.
