JAN 26 1905 Alameda, cal. (Deep slough in morning. Outside of bridge in afternoon.) Conditions: - Foggy in the morning; warm and overcast in the afternoon. Columbus auritus. One outside the bridge. Gavia. One. Larus argentatus. Shot one immature bird. Larus californicus. Common. Aythya valisneria. An outward flight of about fifty at 9:45 a.m. Blangula clangula. Common. In the morning I saw no shore birds; however, heard a plover, Squatarola helvetica, in the fog. Noted several small fringilline birds following the railroad bridge in the fog towards Alameda. There were practically no birds in sight outside. A- way out on the horizon could be seen lines of ducks. 205; Larus argentatus; 8; Alameda, cal.; C.A.S. No. 3764. JAN 28 1905 Alamedas, Cal. to and from San Francisco, Cal. Conditions: - Foggy in the morning, clear and warm in the even- ing. Larus glaucescens are abundant in the morning following the boats. Yesterday evening I saw a great many Larus canus or Larus brachyrynchus right off the ferry slip. This evening I rode over on the rear decks. Larus glaucescens was abundant. Only one Larus californicus seen. I have seen
