Conditions: Similar to morning, wind stronger. (tide flooding)
North shore of San Leandro Bay.
The following birds were seen and some shot:-
Larus glaucescens. A few. A great many of these birds were
"" californicus. "" Passing over the town at noon,
fllying only a few feet above the houses, and flying
as much as possible in the shelter of tall trees.
Aythya vallisneria. Not many birds passed in this
afternoon, as they usually do.
Aythya affinis. One.
Cangula (clangula?) A few.
Eriornithura jamaicensis. Common.
Ardea herodias. One or two.
Nycticorax nycticorax. 3 or 4.
Sandpipers. Common.
Squatarola squatarola. A few.
Hawk. One.
Sturnella magna. A few.
Athome at noon saw a good many Cassin's dome-
ticus, a few Donotrichia leucophrys, 3 ort warblers.
