continually over the marsh; ducks were also flying low. The
following birds were seen :-
Columbus auritus. Several.
Loons. Two or 3.
Larus glaucescens. Common.
" californicus.
Nettion carolinensis. A few.
Dafila acuta. A few high up in the air.
Aythya vallioneria. Abundant. A good many birds
came out about 7:15 A.M.
Chlongula (clangula?). Common both in sloughs outside.
Charitonetta albeola.
Oite mia deglandi. A few.
" perspicillata. Abundant. One large flock of
Boor 400.
Eris matura jamaicensis. Common in the sloughs.
Ereunetes occidentalis. Common. I have seen these birds
right along but had shot none, hence was not sure of
their identity.
Melospiza cinerea. Common.
Time: - 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
