Alameda, cal. to and from San Francisco, Cal.
Conditions:- Similar to yesterday, colder.
In the morning I saw a good many
ducks, and a few grebes along the mole. I
rode inside the steamer.
In the evening I noted a few Larus californ-
iens along the City front in the approaching
darkness.

In the morning ducks were quite thick along the mole. A few
grebes were seen. Also a few sandpipers on beach.
I saw many Larus glaucus scens on the piles at the city.
In the evening I saw several Larus californicus,
which are still abundant.
