In the slough north of San Leandro Creek, I observed the above-named birds, excepting the gulls. I also saw about 50 to 70 Netton carolinensis on the mud. They were unap- proachable. A small flock Symphenia semi Palmata. On the bay I saw 3 or 4 Columbom migratorius. I shot one Colymbus auritus. In my back yard Passer domesticus was abundant. I saw about a dozen Den- driva auduboni in the fruit trees. Six As- tragalinius psaltria were feeding on a cosmos bush. These birds I shot at noon time OCT 28 1904 Alameda, Cal. to San Francisco, Cal. 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. Conditions: - clear; north wind; moderate temperature Passer domesticus was of course abundant.
