11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
Conditions: - clear; warm; strong west wind.
I saw a large flock of gulls on the north side of
Oakland Creek. On the bay I saw a few Larus heermanni
and Larus occidentalis.
Millbrae, San Mateo Co., Cal.
2:45 P.M.
Conditions: - sun shining; warm; strong west wind; fog
rolling in over the mountains from the ocean.
I saw a flock of about a dozen Euphagus cyanoccephalus
rise up from a meadow along side the track.
San Francisco, Cal. to Alameda, Cal.
4:45 P.M. to 5:05 P.M.
Conditions: - clear; strong west wind; tide about high;
warm.
I saw a few Larus occidentalis and a few Larus heer-
manni on the trip across.
From home to about two miles across Bay Farm Island
and return.
6:00 P.M. to 7:15 P.M.
Conditions: - clear; strong west wind; moderate temper-
ate. Tide well up.
I saw a few barpodaeus mexicanus and a few Passer
domesticus along the road. Melopeza cinerea was abun-
dant. The fact that the tide was high prevented this bird
from getting down into the marsh and down along the
