Alameda, Cal. to San Francisco, Cal. 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. Conditions: - Cloudy; light west wind; temperature moderate. As I left the house this morning I saw a few Hirundo erythrogaster next door. Some were sitting on the edge of the gutter on the roof; the others were flying. A flock of pelover passed by high overhead. Passer domesticus was abundant as far as the roundhouse. On the sand at the seawall I saw a few Larus occidentalis and a couple of Nycticorax nycticorax. Euphagus cyanocephalus appeared commonly in the vegetable gardens. Along the mole I saw a few Larus occidentalis. Far out at the water's edge were two large flocks of gulls, perhaps fifty in each. On the bay I saw a few Larus occidentalis. San Francisco, Cal. to Alameda, Cal. 5:15 P.M. to 5:35 P.M. Conditions: - Clear; strong west wind; moderate temperature. I saw two Larus heermanni and three or four Larus occidentalis on the trip over. All were flying westward. JUL 17 1904 Alameda, Cal. 7:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Conditions: - Clear; warm; light east wind. I saw the following birds :- Aphelocoma californica. Eating pears. Carpodacus mexicanus. Three or four eating pears. Icterus bullocki. Three young birds eating figs. Passer domesticus. Abundant.
