Aug.8 Boulder Creek, Brown Tordens still feeding
young- all out of nest. The tamest of the pair
drives off another - a third unmated bird!)
Its feathers on the back are mutilated.
Aug.9 I heard a Barn Owl during the night. The
Barn Owl that has been heard every day each
time we have been down.
Aug.11 Berkeley. A family of Grouse went through
the garden. Young Vigor's Wrens singing.
Aug.13. I found the quail's nest in the iris bed contained only
empty shells.
