Nov.9. Faculty Section in Colonies Park - Birds very abundant, esp. Crowed Sparrow and Aud. Warblers - 100's. Many Knights, Mr. Thrushes, Pickers. Saw 22 sp. almost all of them at very close range and in excellent light.
Nov. 10. Mrs. Willson's Class went to Mrs. Blosser's on Chabot Rd. She has an excellent feeding Table where we saw Hermit Thrush, G-C Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Fox Sparrow, Wrentit, Say's Vireo. On the reservoir there were coots, 2 Ruddy Ducks, one Pied-billed Grebe and in the distance a flock of ducks - probably Blue Bills. Clear, warm.
Nov.12. Lady Birds went to Benicia and Cordelia. Clear, warm day. Between Vallejo & Benicia we saw a number of hawks - Several Sparrow Hawks and Red Tails, a few Marsh Hawks and also Prairie Falcons (2), Ferruginous Rough-leg and one miniature Goshawk. The Goshawk was attacking the Rough-leg as he soared above us. Later we saw several Sharp-shins and our Cooper Hawk. Red-winged Blackbirds were in enormous flocks above Benicia. A few ducks were on the bay near Benicia, many Ruddy's (Cue Ann. Cypt), several Blue Herons, a few Pied-billed & Eared Grebes, and many coots (in the marshes). Between Cordelia & Vallejo on the road American Canyon Rd. we found a large pond of fresh water with Tules. Then we saw many coots, and Cullifour, a few Mallards, a Redhead,
