a Rufflehead and a Golden-Eye. Meadow-
Larks and Willow Goldfinches (large flocks),
Orjuts and Savannah Sparrows, Brewer
Blackbirds were abundant. Other birds seen
were Black Phoebe, Aud. Warbler, Flycatcher,
Sunnies, (Bay Bridge opened)
Nov.13 - Nov.20. Almost continuous warm weather
with no rain and very little fog.
Nov. 25-30 - Drove to Los Angeles to a meeting?
the Phylological Association - Coast route-
both ways: Clear, warm weather. Country
very dry in north - greener from Bass Robles
South. Most generally distributed birds: Shrike,
Sparrow, Warblers, Sunnies, W. Bluebirds. A few
Yellow-billed Magpies south of Santa Maria; Shore
birds common - Curlews, Godwits, Willets, a few
Yellowlegs, Sandpiper and Bendpipers. No Scoter.
A few Ruddy Ducks and Bluebills. On the
Malibu Road as we neared Los Angeles - a
flock of about 100 Mountain Bluebirds.
Miss Gladding spent the Thanksgiving holiday at
Echo Lake and reported many robins feeding on
the juniper berries. Also heard a song of three
quality - possibly of Townsend Solitaire. Saw
no juncos there.
Nov.30. A strong north-east wind blew all
night.
Dec. 1. Song Sparrow began singing.
Dec. 7. Killdeer - flocks over Berkeley, along highways
on lawns-
