Apr./6. Went to Art School - Rain, 2:30 A.M. till
Apr.17. A.M. Grosbeak singing near
dairy in early morning.
Apr.17. Cleared. Beautiful day. Walked to
Faculty Glade. Only winter birds seen
near Golden-crowned Sparrows (Some
mounting, some in breeding plumage)
Blue Kinglet. Fox Sp. still on my table.
Grosbeak Seen - singing. Small
flock of Cedar Waxwings. Heard
Creeper near College Art. bridge.
Apr.18- Bandel Golden-cr. Sparrows mounting.
No Fox Sparrows seen.
Apr.19. Chuck-chuck of Hermit Thrush heard
at dawn. No Fox Sparrows.
Apr.20. Warmer. Fog 2:30. Whistle of
Quail on guard heard first time.
Tolmie Marble heard again.
2. Saw flock 8-10 quail. Hermit Thrush in
garden.
Apr.23. Cold N.W. wind. Sketched on Campus
Apr.24. Cold wind. Walked up canyon with
Jamie p.m. Grosbeak singing. Robin
in Canyon at sunset.
Apr.25 Warmer. Went to S.F. p.m. Many
shore birds along pier. Sandpipers,
