Oct. 1920. Berkeley.
Sept. 25 (contin.) Bay Farms. On the bay shore
were very few birds - and those only gulls and
sandpipers.
Sept. 29. Saw a flock of Holden-co. Sparrows
and Intermediates. Both singing - This was
in the Claremont Region.
Saw a Yellow Warbler.
Sept. 30. Saw one Audubon Warbler.
Oct. 1. " 15 Audubon Warblers.
Oct. 2. Large flocks of Intermediate Sparrows
Oct. 3. Went with James to saddle between Strain-
berry Canyon and Claremont Canyon. Lunches
Wind. 3 Lewis Woodpeckers flew over. Also
1 Calif. Woody. and 3 Red-tailed Hawks were
seen.
Oct. 4. Fox Sparrow came to Table. None seen
or heard before. Had evidently been here
before as he was much at home.
Oct. 5. 1 Fox Sparrow.
Oct. 6. Rain last night.
Oct. 7. Two flickers were seen on the trunk
of one of the small Black Oak Trees near
window. One on one side of trunk, the other
exactly opposite. As one moved around the
trunk, the other moved just enough to
keep opposite. About once in two minutes
