June 28. Another Allen Hummer's nest
under Mrs. Noyes front porch. Young
almost grown.
July 4. Juncos on Institution Grounds.
At Claremont Hotel saw 2 young Flick-
ers - full size. Quail in hedge - 21
young, 2 males, 1 adult male, 2 females.
Juncos at Claremont Hotel also.
July 17, 18. Swallows (cliff) about.
July 25. Young S. F. Towhee came to table
to feed. Towhees, Song Sparrow, Thrasher and
Jay warbling.
July 29. Went to see nest of Olive-sided
Fly catcher, found by Mr. Storey, in
Cypress tree near U.C. dairy.
Both birds were in the tree next to
the nest tree and were busy during
the few minutes I could watch, driving
off other birds that happened to come
too near - among them a Hummer
and two Purple Finches.
July 31. Two robins flew into Eucalyptus
Trees near dairy in early morning-
Aug. 10. One swallow seen flying high over
Canyon.
Aug. 16. Lazuli Bunting singing.
