1919. Sept. (Oct.) (or more) Fox Sp. backs. One sang 125 tunes in half hr. Sept. 28. Saw young warblers (lutescent?) eating cascara berries. Sept. 29. Heavy thunder storm in 8 p.m. Sept. 30. Coast Jay came to table for first time. Took large pieces of bread, flew to tree, held bread bet. toes and broke it with beak. While I was watching it came from table to window sill 3 times. Blue spot above each nostril visible. Sept. 30. Heavy rain. Golden-crowned Sp. singing. Oct. 4. Fox Sparrows began coming reg- ularly to the good table. Birds singing frequently Fox Sparrow, Thrasher, Wrentit, Titmouse, Nuttall Sp., Intermed. Sp., and Golden-crowned Sp. Allen 19 summer still here. Oct. 5. Went to Golden Gate Park and Beach. Very warm. Oct. 6. Very warm. Warblers still migrating. Andubon W. very numerous in Faculty Glade Oct. 7. Still very warm. Light N. winds. Heard Robin. Mrs. Kelly reported pipits. Oct. 8. Hermit Thrush back. Fox Sp. singing freely. Oct. 9. R-C. Knights and juncoes abundant. Oct. 10. Saw 2 House Wrens. Warb[illegible]
