Apr.14. Ruby-crowned Kinglet still here. Clear, cold.
Apr.15. Black-headed Grosbeak. Titmouse feeding young
Jolmis Warbler back.
Apr.16. House-wrens began building in box next to
swing. Warm, beautiful day.
Apr.18. Robin singing up canyon. Fox sp. still here.
Apr.19. Grosbeaks common - Also many P.T. Warblers,
Hermit Thrushes singing at dawn - one, mus-
cally but not in full tunes - the other
in harsh unmusical notes. Beautiful
day. Golden-crested more numerous than
Intermediates but some out. Still here.
Near Bluebirds often in direction of dairy -
Apr.21. Int. Sp. still here but not singing
and fewer than Y.C. Sparrows.
Apr.23. Y.C. Sp. and Hermit Thrush still
here. Weather raw, cloudy.
Apr.25. A Cassin Vireo sang near house
for an hour or more. No Hermit Th.
Apr.26. Several Rustic-backed Thrushes
were whistling at dawn.
Apr.27. Hermit Thrush and Intermediate Sp.
came to battle at 8 a.m. Her. Th.
again at 6 p.m.
Apr.28. Banded five baby titmouses in
box.
Apr.29. Fox Sparrow in pool at 6:45 a.m.
