Apr.7. Beautiful warm day without north wind.
Heard W. Flycatcher and Warbling Vireo. Many
Ht. Sparrows are feeding on worms in oak
Trees - and singing freely. Tennessee Warbler,
and Knights less singing freely. At noon
a flock of Gulls was calling loudly as
they rose over hills. Black Phoebe was dairy.
Apr.11. A robin flew into street and
picking up a stick flew up into tree
with it just as I passed in auto -
This was on the south side of Durant
Ave. just below Shattuck. Black Phoebe
[illegible] under Porches.
Apr.12. A Robin was singing at dawn.
A House Wren - the first I have
heard this spring - came into the
garden, investigated the box near
the swing, carried a stick up
... and into it but disappeared after
a few minutes. Hermit Thrushes
are numerous. Knights & Tennessee
Warblers and Intermediate and Y.c. Spar
rows still singing and eating the worms
which seem to be over-abundant.
Apr.13. Down down to Los Altos - Many yellow
Warblers singing - Also Yellow - throats.
Balmy at Los Altos - very cold, misty in Bay region:
