Stamcel Et. Reservoir in Wild Cat Canyon to see Ring- necked Ducks reports by Mr. Kliver. There were eight - 3 males, 5 females - Distant views across the reservoir but in good light. Our nearest remained under water about 35 sec. Many Audubon Warblers were catching insects over the palm & 1 Black Phoebe. Just before dark Blue Jays near house were terribly excited. I suppose they were mobbing an owl but in a few minutes Jamie came in to report a strange bird on the porch - near the kitchen door. Covered let. house and porch railing was a cost, one leg broke, wings clipped or exhausted so it could not fly over railing - very tame. Caught it and caged it in bird trap. Probably an escape from aviary burned Sept. 19. Mr. Rague reported Pd.W. Oct. 11 Oct. 19. Heard Golden-crowned Kinglet. Oct. 24 - Many Hutton Vireos about. Also Torn- and Warblers. Band-tailed Parakeet seen - first time for many weeks. No band-tailed Fox Sparrow seen yet.
