Oct. 1922 Alameda. Oct. 5. Walk in Claremont Canyon. Saw Pileated Warbler - Allen & Wm. Hunnington Migrants - Black-throated Gray Warbler and N. Shalcatcatcher. Picked up dead. W. Winter View - Heard Rufous Crowned Sp. Winter Vistants - Fox Sp., Intermediate Sp., Ruby-crowned, Townsend Warbler, and Sharp-shinned Hawk. Oct. 6. Ruby-crowned Knight heard - Heather Frie. Oct. 7. Conducted Cal. Nature Club. Alameda Shore - Saw - W. Hulls, Bon. Hulls, Forster Terns, Sandpipers (large flocks) Many Marbled Godwits, W. Willets (many), a few Curlew, Black-bellied Plover, Semi-paluted Clover (?), and Killdeer. Oct. 8. 15-25 Cedar Warblers plus over - B.C. Knight common. Sh. S. Hawk - Rennies. Oct. 9. Rain - Oct. 10 Rain - 11. Cloudy. Oct. 16. Took class to Alameda. Tide just right - Willets 8-10 Godwits 8-10, Curlews 8-10, Red V. Sand- pipers 5, B-b. Plover 4, Forster Terns 2, Semi-paluated Clovers 20, Sandpipers large flock 1 Clapper Rail - excellent view of it.
