Oct. 17. Hermit Thrush back.
At noon an aggregation of birds
came into garden 12:15-12:30.
2 Thrashers, 2 Br. Towhees, 2 S.F. Towhees,
2 Song Sp., 2 R.e. Kinglets, 1 Golden-crowned Sp.,
2 Jays.
12:30-1:00 in garden-
Flocks bush tits, Vigors Wren, Flicker,
Dut. Sparrow, in the pine trees, Red-breasted
Nuthatch, R.e. Kinglets (singing).
Oct. 20. Warm E. wind - Hermit Thrush common
Oct. 21. Hot.
Oct. 22. Hot. Dead Varied Thrush on back steps
Oct. 25. Very few birds - none come to table.
Nov. 2. Cold. Clear. Mrs. Cole took us to Berkeley
Country Club in search of Blake places.
Saw few birds.
Nov. 3. Went with Mr. & Mrs. Schenck to Boulder Creek
by way of Congress Springs, Big Basin.
Road very good. Birds rare except on edge
of woods where juncos and sparrows. Several
small bands of Band-tailed Pigeons
near summit. Madrone berries very abundant.
N. wind. Night very cold.
Nov. 4. Short walk - Robins, juncos, flickers
