Jan. 28 Cold rain p.m.
Jan. 29- Snowed all day. 8 in. recorded at
the University - 2 ft. on Grizzly Peak.
Several miles of snow piled on bird
table. Birds scratching in it, eager for
food.
Jan. 30. Hills white to Piedmont Ave. Blake
roofs covered. Beyond that snowfall of
yesterday hath melted. Mr. Stores came
to take pictures of the birds.
Jan. 31. Still cold. Snow still in patches
about house. Hills white above Big C.
in morning but melting rapidly.
Rained during night.
Feb. 1. Cold with deep snow still on ridges.
Feb. 2. Cold.
Feb. 3. Snow still on ridges - Cold.
Feb. 4. Dr. Grinnell brought his class to watch
the birds from the window. Saw:
Calif. Thrasher, Calif. Jay, Wren-tit, Ruby-
crowned Kinglet, S.F. Towhee, Fox Sparrow,
Golden-crowned Sparrow, Song Sparrow,
White-throated Sparrow, Varied Thrush (1) and
Flicker. Warner.
Feb. 5. Walked up Titus road. Snow on ridges and
under Chaparral. Warner - Lot Busy Millers,
