Caught in a government Harrow trap left lying on top of my woodshed, about 4 ft. above ground. No bait. Bird ap- parently wandered in out of curiosity. Flew against my lighted window at 7:45 P.M. I caught it by hand on my front porch, and re- leased it immediately as soon as banded. California Thrasher A285166 - Journal. Picked up by hand at 3 P.M. by side of paved road at "Main Lands" on Mt. Soledad, near La Jolla. Did not appear well, but ate bait in my trap, when released in yard of F.B. Limmer, near Scripps Institution. Would not fly except when traced into air, when it flew about 30 ft. Was recaptured 4 times in yard.
