288 Green-tailed Embee, 6/75932. Trapped Sept. 25 '34. This is the first record of a Green-tailed Embee near Berkeley, and the third in the San Francisco Bay region. The latter of the other two bay region records was in San Jose, "writen of 1889 or 1890." Alden H. Miller feels sure that he heard (but did not see) a Green-tailed Embee in Strawberry Canyon in the spring of 1933. Bird kept in cage in R.S.B. to show C.O.B. member and others. Released at Botanical Garden, near where trapped 11 a.m. Left. 29 '34. Golden-crowned Sparrow F/19803. This bird flew into C.C. Summer Jr.'s house in San Mateo Co. in the morning of Oct. 17 '34. I caught it, handed it in Berkeley, and released it same day (17th) at corner of Le Conte and La Joma ares., Berkeley, at 6:30 P.M. Golden-crowned Sparrow A/18/234. Book 2 L. 8. Banded April 12/1932 in Strawberry Canyon, just below Poultry Lab. This is one of 53 kept in cages in R.S.B. This bird was put into cage on April 12, and released July 22 on campus near R.S.B.
