287 Brought to Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, Berkeley, by Dorothy Sattler. Kept in a large cage in Museum until June 2d. Eaten several pieces of meat, but ate nothing while in captivity. Released about 1:30 P.M. June 2d. from window on 3d. floor, northwest corner of Museum. In spite of 9 days' fast, flew steadily to the grove of eucalyptus, west of museum and lighted in a branch about 40 ft. from the ground; toon disappeared among the branches. Dicicoid Jugs B324 430-324 442-43-44-45-6/2, 6/3, And still they come! Quail A444711 8/3/34. This bird had "bashed" its head so hard against the wires of a government spanned trap, that a part of the skull as large as a dime is com- pletely laid bare. Will the bird live? 8/30/34. Skull still bare; bird apparently perfectly healthy. BarnOwl B646911 (see previous page) Found in bad condition on June 3d. by B. C. Bain, at corner of Broadway & Keith, Oakland. Bain took the bird home and tried to save its life, but it died that night.
