Flew to Kure today. Joe Goodwin provided us with ample space, man power, and a very warm reception. By noon settled in 2 rooms and in the afternoon toured the island. Bill saw 26 seals. I collected a tattler and Nody, Frigates, 3 Boobies, Golden Plovers, tattlers, red turnstones, four Bristle-thighed Curlews, Hawaiian and Common Noddies, Sooty Terns, unidentified ("Forester's like") Tern, 5 Fairy Terns, Wedge-tails and Bonin seen. Collected 23 rats at night.

Caught up on odds and ends, and rewrapped all the birds from Midway. Some suffered during the flight over. Went to a cook out for dinner and then out to collect. One Christmas Island Shearwater, 2 Wedge-tailed Shearwaters, one Bonin Petrel, and 2 Frigates collected. Bill got 26 rats. Lots of wedge-tails here. Guess 700 - 1000 present. They may be nesting. No idea how many Christmas Island Shearwaters here.
