Dec. 12
at 10:00 A.M. Doc and I went to East Is.
On the VP with Chiefs Taylor and Rossi - we
counted 5 Golden Plovers and 3 Ruddy Turnstones;
at 11:30 A.M. we caught a Mike boat to North
Island where we had lunch and counted birds:
12 Golden Plovers, 3 Wandering Tattlers and 1 Ruddy
Turnstone; the rain poured down all evening and
night, cascading off the roof tumultuous waterfalls.
Dec. 13
set mouse traps to collect mice for a
dyed food study; we collected one Golden Plover with
a broken wing; pinned out most of the mouse skins
from previous skinning.
