Dec. 11
today was our Friday guywire census; Doc took
the A.M. and I had the P.M.; at 12:30 at
Sooty Tern flew over the island calling - the first
I'd seen over the island in the daytime; 3 Red-tailed
Tropicbirds called and swooped low over the island;
an adult male Great Frigatebird pulled at Tribulus
runners - I have not seen any Frigates work on
the runners from the ground, but always swoop
down and grab a runner trying to pull it loose -
I walked one adult male twice carry Tribulus
runners out of sight NW of North Island;
many of the male Frigates are displaying throughout
the day.
