Lehner, P. 1964 35 Aug.14 was the usual routine day except for the evening; O'Donnell contributed 3 cases of beer to the cause and everyone proceeded to get three sheets to the wind; a double feature tonight but Cam and I decided to finish off the blood samples; however, when we finally got started I was slightly under the influence and not all that effective (Doc, D.C., Haskins, Willie, Conners, O.D., etc. were having a fiasco in the yard with hamburgers and beer - I couldn't leave without a few for the road); after taking about 20 samples of blood - Cam took way over half - he decided that I was in no condition to continue, expressed this opinion and then grabbed up most of the equipment and stalked back to the barracks; I decided that as long as we'd started we might as well finish it - in order to get more equipment I rode the bicycle to the pump house and returned; I began taking more samples - Sutcliffe came up at 12:30, poked around for awhile and then returned to the barracks where he consumed 9 more Miques (he never returned to "the other end", needless to say); I worked until I had an additional 44 samples which I figured would give us plenty to allow for centrifuge breakage; I returned to the barracks, showered and hit the rack at $3:45 AM.
