After waiting of an hour for him I decided that he was not coming up and went off with my hunter & two beaters to a ravine on the other side of the ridge where we had been hunting good. The beaters made a puzzle of the drive but put out 3 rylewk which were about 15 yds from me. I feel only one striking its bullet straight thru' the animal's heart yet it ran & rolled at least 10 yds from there. [illegible] Driving it back by my men the beaters we worked along the crest of the ridge with the other man below us. He put out four rylewk which ran about 20 yds below us, I made another heavy shot one one and broke the leg of a fine buck, it dumped over the crest by the ridge & when I was running after it then more rylewk came out of the cover straight at me. Only me was a buck and I killed him on the second shot as he turned ups the side hill about 10 yds to my right. He was a beautiful animal with symmetrical antlers & a splendid shin. He made 3 rylewk for me for the afternoon so we went back to camp. Danny had killed another rylewk.
