A very white whale entire peduncle, sides & belly & fins thickly covered with small gray patches, circular oblong & irregular but with long axes with sides of body; the gray patches join each other so that there is more white to gray than dark. The ground color too is very dark gray & not black or slate as usual. The gray patches are about 6" long x 3" wide. Toward tips of dorsal half of rammus gray redish mixed. no1 - 1180 ok. 21-228 2 fumes 2 - 282 22-160 each 160 cent. 3 - 210 24-88 long. 4 - 400 25-50 6 - 345 26 ok. - 5- skeleton taken no.20, Gray Whale, 31, Jan., 9/12, Ubusan, Korea. Rather light whale. Ground color # dark gray. Peduncle has a number of rather small gray blotches which became smaller posteriorly; there about four feet from flukes. Dorsal & ventral ridges of peduncle plain dark gray. Sides to fins have many gray patches and back, sides belly peduncle turn fort. The whole body is thickly covered with white circular scars.
