198 in British Museum is a skull of Megaptera from California. Finback One barnacle (Coronula) was present on with barnal the tip of the head of a Finback 42 ft long & taken at Urbana Janry. This same whale had sustained an injury appar- ently to the upper surface of its sword. The epidermis was in the form of round "islands" about .4 inches in diameter - sometimes isolated - some- times the edges touching. These were situated on a yellowish white gran- ular surface - This was also present in one or two places near eye. It may have been caused by a parasite of some sort, but I believe it was from external injury. The whole tip of its head was marked with long, narrow whitish streaks which were apparently scratches. Finback Pteralens? had a pink spot on breast - I observed this same thing on one or two Dan. Finbacks.. Porpoises While in Alaska (1908) I several times saw in Alaska schools of a black & white striped dolphin which I am certain was Lagenorhynchus cranger. I was close to them & had good opportunities for observation.
