18 Dorsal fin Black - Anterior edge [illegible] convex toward tip - posterior edge concave forming a shallow crescent. The fin is better described as being erect and not deeply falcate. Top of Head view From the pectoral fins to the eye, it narrows gradually, but in front of the eye the two sides slope more abruptly to the snout which is "roundly truncated". A photograph taken after the head had been severed from the body, shows that it is not quite bilaterally symmetrical. Sideview A few inches from the tip of the mandible there is a pronounced dip in the outline of the throat. The snout projects 2 cm. beyond the lower jaw. It rises abruptly and then slopes gradually upward backward to the flowhole. From the corner of the mouth, there is a white edging to the upper lip. This white band is about one inch wide at the corner of the mouth gradually nar- rowing as it comes forward until it runs off and is lost before it quite reaches the middle of the lip. Hairs snout I examined the snout, lower jaws head with the [illegible] greatest care to see if any hairs were present - none whatever
