I am sorry that I was unable to write to you about the trip but there is no need for me to explain as it has all happened before and I think you will understand why I did not write.
We left on Tuesday morning at 8.30am. The weather was very cold with snow falling heavily throughout the day. We reached our destination by evening after driving through deep snowdrifts which made progress difficult. On arrival we found ourselves surrounded by thick fog making visibility extremely poor. After waiting several hours in vain for any sign of life around us finally someone came out saying they had seen lights ahead so we drove towards them hoping against hope that maybe this time luck would be with us.
By now it was getting late into the night and darkness fell quickly over everything including ourselves too since headlights were barely visible due to heavy snowfall outside. Still determined not give up easily we kept moving forward slowly yet steadily despite conditions being far worse than anticipated earlier on today when leaving home first thing this morning before dawn broke across northern Europe.
