Saturday Dec 27 - 1913.
The natives are coming & going again
now that the new snow is here. DoTia +
hi wife + their [illegible] old baby have gone
to Getisawaul. Their meat is gone & they must
get more To feed them, plus + the dogs.
Abbie has started on her ferry household.
We are handling dry pups, and a dry birr[illegible]
cross. In these the dry can be loved ... It
is a menisance to take care of [illegible] dogs,
and it is very hard on harness + trees.
The weather is excellent and the temperature
only about 20° below zero here as I tak. So is
much colder north of here.
Sunday December 28 - 1913
Hal performed the first operation on the ex-
pedition today. Zibagan had a structure and was
in great pain. We laid him on the dining room
table and Hal gave the ether.
Hal has relieved Fred working. She
latter is tired of the storm and is really more
useful in the work shop helping with the
sledge building.
He [illegible] been running me to secure dog,
in fact, even since he got back, telling us about
his trip south.
