A H 123 Sat + Hal went out all day with their kayaks. + the former returned with a seal. She must have been gone for H & his hunting in the whole boat to their kayaks. I took sights for chronometer correction + worked up some azimuths x the big clock is doing well these days. Mac has found 18 varieties of wild flowers within one minute's walk of The house. The river is full of water & altogether the little village is really beau- tiful. Saturday 25-1914. Absolutely calm. Sat, Hal + I all went hunting. Sat must launch in his kayak + got nothing. Hal went up to The Green fishing + got one seal on the ice come the home. I built cairns for marking the harbor on all prominent points & islands from here to Sunrise Point. I went in Hal's kayak taking a 22 rifle along. I shot 2 ducks + one seist. I got back at 5:30 P.M. somewhat tired as we carried off a good many bags of coal right after breakfast. The ship (Prometheus) is due at Dinner at today. In a week we can begin to look for elk + deer with our maid.
