110 Cape Thomas + the following from my own: On April 28th, 1914 myself & Macmillan & Fitzhugh Green with 2 Inquirers returned to this Cay from a point 125 miles NW to N of the John Sea in an unsuccessful attempt to locate Broken Land. On April 29th Macmillan went east with one Inquirer bound for Cape Solgate. I went SW with one Inquirer & tried Lundship's cairn; the parties were to reunite in 4 days at an igloo on the coast 35 miles to the SEward of the Cay. I was caught in a storm about 15 miles SW of Cape. The natives & I took refuge in a snow-ships remaining three days, then the wind slackened. Having followed the advice of the natives in leaving my dogs near the drift they had finished. On May 1 the storm had not ceased. The Inquirers refused to obey my orders to remain or advance SW. He later attempted to desert me for the second time since leaving Macmillan. I saw get him & fired the rifle into the air; he did not stop. I then shot him. I rejoined Macmillan as soon as storm abated. I have 8 days, elope & provisions for 2 days.
