100 Fridjof Nansen Thursday April 9, 1914 Another hard day. We waited until 1000 am to see if mind would not let up. One man did not wish to start as they said that the dogs would not be able to pull. We arrived at 930 pm after a 12 hr march. Luckfiqarch's dogs are in bad shape. We saw no game and could scarcely see the land most of the time. Friday April 12, 1914 Through tea at 830 am left shortly after 9 am, snow + light wind. Choked + pushed forwards all day 900 think to see anything in the open morning. Dogs died in all of our teams. I lost one, A. two, & Ahls one. I now have 7 + each man 1 in his team. Found 5 caribou skins + meat in igloo's. Saturday Apr 11, 1914 A mild day - Several dogs died. We finally abandoned our howitz & pushed on with the other. Reached 7 pm + the other 2 men in a dugout about 1130 pm. The Eskimo enlarged the dugout out + we moved in with him.
