Sunday Monday April 6th 1914. A great day! Yesterday we were unable to find meat so I decided that I must cook for and just on with only enough to help me & go no back. The dogs were originally weak even with our eighteenth loads. Suddenly we came up on their second igloo only a mile beyond the first. Here we found plenty of meat & a note that directed us to 36 carcasses a few hundred yards away on the hill. I decided to stop & sent X back for the provisions etc. We stayed here two days resting & feeding the dogs. Wednesday April 8th 1914 Set out at 4:30 am & got a good start. I am going to try to keep up with Joe's marches from here to the Cape as we cannot afford to lose any more time. It took a little over 13 hours to reach the igloo at Hunt Berg. We would not have seen it except that crossing the creek my on the hill & shot a reindeer & saw the igloo on the ice front as he came down.
