Bay Fjord Sunday July 29 - 1914 Beautiful weather! Had a hard pull over rocks + soft snow. Found a moose from afar. Set dogs on number moose, he went for him in camp, & finished coming of the meat. Monday July 30 - 1914 Loaded hammocks with red & blue furriers, oil, tea, snails & biscuits. Left camp at 11:2 a.m. + reached #6's first igloo at 7:5 P.M. This sort allowed me to double march but the dogs were too tired. Found some coal up the river valley be- low the igloo. Tuesday - March 31 - 1914 Started in a gale of winds + drifting snow at 8:5 am. Saw a seal on the ice but dog scared it away before we could kill it. Racket to camp dogs furriers tonight + 2 qals gold. I did not work more here because of the manner to the big cave at the head of the fjord. It seems better that we hang to our loads & drag as possible, if we do abandon then it will be well on toward our objective the Cape.
