Mine, Panipah, Ahpudashabo, Jago, and Oblanyu left for the south this morning. Tank has been cleaning out some of the frost in the attic over his and Eki's belong- ings today. I have been on watch and cooked breakfast, but Wae Wee helped me cook dinner - frying some very nice rabbit. I found our theodolite in the attic today, - apart from all the other instru- ments. Mr Huchen said it was just what he had needed, - but that it was too late now for him to make the ice-cap trip. His entire plan is changed, - and Eki and Tank are going to go south with him this spring - all because we couldn't find the theodolite when he first came up here. I did not know that we had such an instrument, - and certainly did not think that it could be stowed in some other part of the attic away from
