about seven p.m. They had killed two
bears each, in Elesemere Land.
Doc and I played with the base-
ball a while today. Mene lost the ball
down a crack in the ice foot, 2 dug
out 250 cubic feet or more of the ice
to get the ball, and incidentally to cut
a path thru the rough ice for Komatiks.
Thurs. April 16-14.
Still windy today but not so much as
as yesterday.
Mene and Jags and Ahpuachak
started for Werke this morning but
came back from the glacier because
there was too much snow blowing
on top of it and they dared not
risk it. We had bear steak for
dinner.
Fri April 17-14.
It has been quiet today; there
is about three inches of snow on
the ground. The water is dripping
in the eglom in the dark-room
and Ahlingwah and Obrea are
