seema red fort nest on the ground on the
northern islands. Also had an egg in it.
July 25 Restin Is.
Saw a huge orange streamered BT Curves
sitting on top of a 301 telephone pole.
[illegible] down casually, hazy along tonight,
Concentrating on my radio while all of a
sudden whole harling operation came
to an abrupt halt. The band would it
go on the leg. I look down to see why.
and guess what. The foot had two feet on
one leg. This made the leg twice as wide.
How about that 3 footed sootie..
I guess guess if a person handles thousands
of sooties he is bound to remember unusual
things. Well I just did 4,000 Sooty tern
nest trips. Sitting around with clicks
is a snap compared to shutts. I could have
done 400 more if I hadn't had some trouble
with dry band and tag co. putting band on the
tubes too tight. Collected a weird color blue
red tailed tropic bird nesting [illegible]. Where the
black barring is supposed to be it is light
greyish brown. But instead of being blackbird
to flesh and distant white tail instead
of being dark is light grey and legs instead
of being bluish flesh is white.. I haven't found
any ternored tropic birds or albatros on
easter, only on sand.
