After dark at 8:30 we reached
the bungalow at Nam-tien.
It was a large structure like
a temple surrounded by high
wall & having two courts.
The building was two storied
the lower floor used for cooking
& luggage & the upper reached
by a stairway having 4 bedrooms
to a large dining room.
The place was very clean &
the wood new of a light brown
color. These bungalows are
only used by Europeans, the Chinese
being excluded by a caretaker.
The night was monotonous than
