The following is a list of specimens to go
down with tomorrow's transport.
Black box = 53 bag - med. mammals.

2 small cans alcoholics.
A transport came in this morning
with 7 canaries to return tomorrow with
specimens.
Weather: Morning broken overcast; afternoon
continued rain.
No. 27 4 Km SW Bernhard Camp, Idenburg R., Netherlands New Guinea 850 m.

832 species - 1 Phaeozel, 1 Dorcoepis, 1 Melops,
1 Uromys.
Started species at 12:00 m. camp 231 species x 3 days -
7 (6) Juv.) Phaeozel.
This morning tended traps and prepared
specimens. Afternoon spent in the field in search
of suitable trapping localities along the river and
for painting engines.
The morning food returned from the
Idenburg. He reports good collecting on Idenburg
during the high water. It was particularly
successful in the marshy region. He states that
he has prepared 3 Phaeozels and a Melops.
Early evening was not hot shooting. Many
bat flying, apparently 2 sp., but was
unable to hit them. Late evening at jacking.
Saw or grey rat but it escaped in
cover of forest undergrowth.
Weather: Rain. Broken overcast with
sunshine partially during the late morning.
